ON THE SHAKE RAG
MINERAL POINT'S PENDARVIS HOUSE 1935-1970
A truly fascinating tour through the words of Edgar Hellum as recorded in a series of interviews in his later years on the life story of the Pendarvis Historic site in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
This is the only museum devoted entirely to telling the experience of the Cornish in America. Hellum and Bob Neal combined their skills and talents to rescue a group of stone cottages and over time transformed the Shake Rag street area into a world renowned Cornish site.
When Hellum was interviewed Neal had already passed away, now both men are gone, but the story in a conversational tone is preserved in this book.
Stunning black and white photos complement the text.
