MUSICAL ADVENTURES IN CORNWALL By Maisie & Evelyn Radford
Two sisters from Dartmoor were drawn to Cornwall and through half a century of musical devotion they left their mark on the county. Their names were household words in the smallest villages as well as other towns in Cornwall. They were instrumental in the formation of many choirs and orchestras all over Cornwall; participated in lecture recitals; folk dancing programs and were very active in the Falmouth Opera singers. There is interesting social history in this book also. The sisters tell of their work in First World War conditions and the transformation wrought in the standards of village halls and musical education.
